Susan Hepworth leads the media relations efforts for Woodberry Associates. She focuses on driving and echoing strategic messages for its health care and education clients through the development and execution of an earned media strategy that includes both traditional and digital media, as well as surrogates. She also focuses on developing sources for reporters covering those issues in Washington, D.C. and across the country.
Hepworth brings years of fast-paced national media relations experience to Woodberry Associates. She previously served as Communications Director at the Republican Party of Florida during the 2014 election cycle where she helped lead communications efforts for the Governor of Florida’s successful re-election campaign. Prior to joining the Republican Party of Florida she was Director of the National Traveling Press for the Romney campaign and traveled full time with Governor Romney and the national press corp during the 2012 campaign. During the 2012 campaign she developed relationships with national and international media, including the five major TV networks, wire service reporters and major print and digital outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, POLITICO, and Huffington Post.
During the 2010 election cycle she directed the day-to-day political operations at the Republican National Committee, and prior to that, she was a project manager and consultant at Majority Strategies, a mail and consulting firm for political and corporate organizations in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Hepworth, who began her career in 2007 in Iowa on Romney's first presidential campaign, has a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Kansas William Allen White School of Journalism. She was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, and currently lives in Florida.
