Brian Kennedy J.D., President
Brian Kennedy is President of Woodberry Associates, LLC, a Washington, D.C. based public policy management consultancy specializing in health and education policy as well as congressionally directed appropriations and coalition management. For nearly two decades, Mr. Kennedy’s professional career has spanned the practice of law, campaign politics and corporate public affairs consulting.Over the course of his career, Mr. Kennedy has served as the organizer, manager and/or a strategic consultant to over a dozen coalitions and associations and presently serves as Director of the Alliance for Patient Access. He has served on the national political staff of two Republican presidential campaigns and is a past Executive Director of the Republican Governors Association. Mr. Kennedy served as Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa, as a member of the Republican National Committee and as Co-Chairman of the 1996 Republican National Platform Committee. He has also served as a campaign manager to Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, and political advisor to United States Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, United States Senators Lamar Alexander, John McCain and Elizabeth Dole and Governor Mitt Romney.
Mr. Kennedy received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Iowa State University and his J.D. from Drake University Law School. He is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association.
Gavin Clingham, J.D.
Mr. Clingham assists corporations and not-for-profit organizations such as universities, colleges, municipalities and health care entities in getting their voices heard before the Executive Branch and the United States Congress, with a specific expertise in the area of federal appropriations.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Clingham served as Appropriations Associate and Legislative Director for Congressman Alan B. Mollohan (D-WV), Chairman of the Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations Subcommittee. In that capacity, Mr. Clingham provided professional advice and guidance on the impact of federal policy changes and directly participated in the Congressional development of annual appropriations for multiple federal agencies. Mr. Clingham has also developed particular expertise relating to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. During his years on Capitol Hill, Mr. Clingham focused on economic development, transportation, housing, space, technology and tax policy.
Mr. Clingham holds a J.D. from the Boston University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from The Catholic University of America. He is a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and sits on the Board of Directors of the National Community Renaissance, a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing.
David Charles, M.D.
Dr. Charles is Vice-Chairman of Neurology and Assistant Dean for Admissions at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has served as a Fulbright Senior Scholar and United States Senate Health Policy Fellow.
Renee’s background blends two decades of experience in public affairs, issue advocacy, and digital media with a developed knowledge of the political process. She has served corporate clients in a range of industries, as well as advised political candidates and organizations at the federal, state, and local levels. Earlier in her career, she served on the presidential campaign staffs of Senator Bob Dole and Senator Lamar Alexander.
Mr. Migli served as executive director of the Pennsylvania Republican Party from 2005-2006. Mr. Migli has also worked for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the New York State Assembly on policy matters ranging from health care to energy, education and infrastructure. Mr. Migli is a native of New York and a graduate of Gannon University, Erie, PA. He resides in the Washington, D.C. area.Christopher Mohrman
Christopher Mohrman has worked for 25 years on issues arising at the intersection of public policy, law, and politics. Before receiving his law degree from the University of Wisconsin, Mr. Mohrman held various positions in the administration and campaigns of Governor Tommy Thompson. In that role, in addition to leading campaign roles Mr. Mohrman assisted in the development, passage, and implementation of many of Thompson's groundbreaking reforms, including education reform and the replacement of welfare with a work-based system, After leaving the Thompson administration, Mr. Mohrman joined one of the Midwest's leading law firms, Michael Best, LLP, where over almost a decade he had a robust practice in both commercial litigation (primarily at the appellate level) and regulatory/public affairs law. Mr. Mohrman advised and represented clients in campaign finance, lobbying, and ethics law, governmental procurement, and assisted clients in addressing complex regulatory issues in the areas of education, energy, gaming, insurance and health care. Mr. Mohrman then became Assistant General Counsel at K12, Inc., the leading online curriculum provider and charter school management company in the nation. K12 is publicly traded on the NYSE, and has annual revenue in excess of $900 million. In his almost six years with K12, Mr. Mohrman served as lead counsel for all of K12's public affairs activities, including developing strategy and overseeing implementation at both the federal level and the state-level teams in each of the 36 states in which K12 was active. In that role, Mr. Mohrman conducted extensive legislative drafting, analysis and negotiations, resulting in many provisions that are now in various state statutes, rules, or regulations. Mr. Mohrman also handled all regulatory actions and investigations related to K12's management services provided to charter and other public schools.
